A Whole Heap of New

What’s New Scooby Doo?

Alright y’all, so I know I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks but after I wrote that blog post and published it, everything started looking up. By looking up, I mean I got a job and that kind of fixed 85% of the problems I was having. (The workaholic jumped out there for a minute.) Anyway, so there’s some *new* stuff going on now and all of it is really positive! I wanted to jump on here and discuss it because I love sharing things with y’all and I’m also just really excited about what’s coming next!

1. The Blog

My website isn’t going anywhere anytime soon! I know I’ve been MIA, and I’ve been talking about coming back and stuff for a while now but I just wasn’t in a good headspace to be sharing my life. With that said, the recent shifts in events has made my blogging habits a little more realistic and I can get back to sharing my favorites and my routines and everything else I love sharing on here.

With that said, there new things coming to the blog and I wanted to discuss those things with y’all!

Firstly, there’s a new publishing dating. I’ll be updating the blog every Thursday at 11am. It’ll always publish at the same time in the same place so you guys know where to come and find new stuff. Next, there is going to be a new tab/page/whatever they’re called on the blog and that is going to house the other new thing I’m going to be talking about!

Every Thursday, starting today, there will be a new blog post up! I’m really excited about giving myself actual deadlines! I used to be really terrible at meeting deadlines that I set for myself, but that’s something that I’ve been working on. I’ve realized it’s a really multifaceted issue and so it’s been a big task but overall, it’s been extremely positive.

2. Webtoons

I’ve been missing the creative side of me for a while now, and that’s just because a lot has been going on and being creative was not something that I was even thinking about. Last summer I took a step away from my creative fiction writing because I felt that I had to start getting serious about my future. Graduate school dreams had fallen by the wayside and not for lack of wanting, things just weren’t really working out in my favor. I decided to rebrand my blog and then I just stopped the creative process all together. (My blog and instagram are obviously creative outlets, but not the same kind of creative outlet.)

After graduation, I realized how long it’d been since I picked up any of my old drafts or even written a story or poem. It hit me how much I needed that and wanted it, because those sorts of things really do make me feel whole. In January I started reading Webtoons pretty religiously on the recommendation of a few friends and got an overwhelming urge to pursue one. If you haven’t read a Webtoon, I suggest going over to the website and looking at them. They bring together story telling and illustration and some of the stories are absolutely amazing! They have a lot of different genres and these artist are absolutely mind blowing!

While I’m not much of an artist, one of my friends who got me into Webtoons actually is and so we’re teaming up to write and draw one! Currently we’re in the production process and so nothing is live now, but when it is, I’ll be making a big announcement!

3. YouTube

I keep saying this aloud and it’s sort of insane. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time but I’ve always been so intimidated and scared, and while I still am, I think this can be really really good for me. I’m not going to drop all of my reasons for creating my channel right now, but I wanted to discuss what I’ll be doing on youtube’s platform and how it ties into my blog.

I want my blog and my channel to coincide pretty neatly and so a lot of the topics I cover here, I’ll cover there. I’ve had some ideas for posts on this site that I think would just suite a video platform better than a written one. Doing thrifting hauls or doing a “day in my life” sort of post just doesn’t seem very realistic or as exciting on a written platform, and I personally think that those kinds of videos are a lot of fun to watch. I’m also going to talk about books (duh) and then I’ll be vlogging my days and trips and whatever else! I’m not limiting myself too much.

I want my channel to be like my blog, a place where I can shout (more literally now) into the void and discuss things I love! I’ll obviously have somewhat of a niche in fashion and lifestyle but I really want to discuss books more regularly and so I’m going to implement that into my channel (and probably more on the blog too!)

Like I mentioned previously, I’ll have a new page/tab/dealieo on the blog so that my videos are easier to view! If you want to subscribe to my channel, I’ll be posting new videos every Friday at 11am! Click here to subscribe! My first video is a welcome video and it’s going up this Friday and I’m really ready to learn how to use video editing software because I was having a ROUGH time with this one!

Anyway y’all, thanks!

I really appreciate the reads and the support and those people who continue to come back to my page and read my stuff! This is a really wonderful place for me and I really love being able to express myself through words. I’m excited to extend that to videos and to learn a new craft, I hope you all come visit me there too!

Sending love always.
